kingchris626
My truck was rear ended. Not sure if this has to do with the problem. But I drove my truck to the body shop. I used my address seach button to type in the address and it worked fine. The shop had it for a couple weeks. Well now I have it back and the Address Search doesn't work, along with the POI search button. I mean, it's not highlighted. So I can't press it. My stored addresses will take me to the route I need to go, but I can't enter any new ones. Before I call the shop I have been trying to figure out if I need to reset something. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
cntrylvr79
was it bypassed or hooked up right? If it was hooked up right, then odds are the parking brake wire from the d1 has been disconnected from the parking brake wire in the vehicle.
kingchris626
Well that could be possible that they did not re connect it right. They had to replace the tale light. So how would I fix this? I don't really expect someone to know since ever hook up may be different. I have a 2006 toyota tundra double cab.
cntrylvr79
Look at the parking brake assembly. Towards the top of it, theres a plug with a single wire in it. Follow that wire and see if theres a light green wire spliced into it. There isn't or if that light green wire is broken, then that's your problem.
kingchris626
Forgive me for not knowing where the parking brake assembly is. Can you please tell me where it my be?
cntrylvr79
it's the thing that you step on to engage the parking brake. You might be better off taking it to a shop and explaining the situation.
kingchris626
LOL. Hey well I fixed the problem. Apparently the original installer installed a bypass switch. And I flipped it up and bam. It works. Thanks for all of your help.
