I have been looking forever for the vehicle speed sensor location on my 1999 Toyota Landcruiser that I am installing an AVIC-Z2 in. It says on 12volt.com that its a purple wire behind the glove box attached to the ECM. So I look behind there and there are about 20 Purple wires, ha-ha! Any help/advice is appreciated. I checked rostra.com they do not have this location either....if possible....any other ways to hook up this wire or not hook up...so its not noticeably different in the GPS location? ANTP228 Posted March 10, 2008 Report Share Posted March 10, 2008 Speed Sense purple behind the glove box Located in a 28 pin connector at the ECM behind the glove box. there are five plugs in the ecm, the ONLY 28 PIN PLUG is to the right of the center plug, depending on which way is up but count the slots, one plug has 28 pins the other only 24.
