08 F150 FX4 Supercrew

Recommended Posts

I have a D1 (yeah... old) that I installed in my current vehicle.

08 F-150 FX4 SuperCrew will be here soon. Either going to go with a D3 or Z3...

Does anyone have the wiring diagram/info for the 08's?

Do I need to buy any type of dash kit?

The F-150 has the audiofile system installed... anything special I need to do to get that working?

Thanks!

You do need some stuff to put the radio in that car.

Mounting kit: Metra 95-5812 or 99-5807

Radio Harness:

With standard audio system: Metra 70-5520

With amplified audio system: Metra 70-5521

Antenna Adapter: Metra 40-CR10

The book says it need an antenna adapter but I'm not completely sure if it does. I would say buy that from a local ccity and this way if you don't need it you can return it. If you want to integrate steering wheel controls order the piece from ebay pac swi-ps.

Thanks... actually, I have the 95-5812, 70-5521, 40-cr10, and pac swi-ps on order!

I think that should do it for the basic install items needed.

it will need the antenna adapter and also the VSS is in the wire harness its grey /black. and steering wheel control is also there if needed.

I've seen elsewhere that the grey/black wire is no longer on the radio harness in the newer truck. Can you confirm this?

Also, where can I get the pin-out for the audiophile system so I can solder everything up on the bench?

Thanks!
