patsfan2
Doesn't seem like the most popular upgrade since I can't find anyone that has talked about doing it on here, through google search or on a few other forums. I don't have any car audio/electronics experience and don't plan on teaching myself so I will have to have someone else do it and want to go into the process knowing how much work it will really take. My current setup: 2002 Lexus GS300 Avic-D1 XM NavTraffic Unit, Reverse Cam, DVD player using RCAs, Subs w/ amp in trunk My Questions: 1. Have you done this or know anyone that has? Are you satisfied with the upgrades from the D1 to Z2? 2. How easy is this "conversion"? Are the units close to plug in play when it comes to swapping them out? 3. My D1 is already bypassed. It was done on the original install with whatever method was around 2.5yrs ago. I can use the Nav while driving and watch DVDs if I want while driving. Will this bypass work for the Z2 or is it completely different? 4. Below is a picture of my unit, will I need to get a new faceplate or will this one fit the Z2? Thanks for your replies! cntrylvr79
The wiring harnesses are different that's all. Everything else will plug right in. The only extra part that would have to be installed is the voice control mic.
patsfan2
Thanks for the reply. I guess my only unknown now is the bypass.
