rapayn1
How do you set-up the AVIC-Z1 to do the following: I want to play music up front (left and right front speakers) while my passengers in the back watch a DVD or TV and listen to it via the rear (left and right rear speakers) and maybe even the subwoofer. I can have it so that I see the map on the AVIC-Z1 screen and the passengers in the back can get a mirror of that, or watch TV or a DVD. I will hear the audio from their source though. What am I doing wrong?
cntrylvr79
I don't beleive the z1 will separate the audio signal between the fron and rear speakers. I could be wrong though since I never got real deep into it's menus. It can be done externally with an audio switch though.
rapayn1
Thanks. What is the name of this switch that I would need to buy, or is it just any audio switch that will do the trick?
cntrylvr79
Depends, do you have an amp for the interior speakers?
rapayn1
Yes. One Alpine MRP-F250 for the front and rear, and an Alpine MRP-M450 for the subwoofer. The front and rears are Polk Audio db6500s component speakers. The sub is a JL Audio 12". The AVIC-Z1 has the Pioneer TV tuner along with the XM satellite NavTraffic receiver added to it. The monitors are Alpine TME-710s built into the headrests.
