benjaminleroux Posted July 29, 2008 Report Share Posted July 29, 2008 What is the difference between using the CD-IU230V which pioneer says is needed to connect your ipod or using the Apple iPod Composite cable to connect your ipod. Will the composite cable work at all? Will you loose any features (album art, video output)? They are about the same price... the only difference is the CD-IU230V cable isnt available yet in any of our local stores. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
skicrave Posted July 29, 2008 Report Share Posted July 29, 2008 The Apple cable is white, and the length of the AV and USB connections are the same, which means you either end up 10 feet of cable to hide somewhere, or give up being able to access the USB connection. jdmeyes Posted July 31, 2008 Report Share Posted July 31, 2008 I'm now currently using the apple composite cable (used to use the pioneer one) and it works good. I'm not sure if it's related to changing out the cables, but my ipod touch won't sync 100% of the time now. I have to re-plug it in a couple times most the time. mazda_3 Posted August 2, 2008 Report Share Posted August 2, 2008 i am having some issues with my regular ipod video using the apple composite cables. It states the VR could not be updated and that connection has failed. Have to disconect the ipod and reconect but every 2nd or 3rd start up of the unit only Quote Link to post Share on other sites
