CT
is it fully compatible with the new iPhone 3G? Contacts, bluetooth, videos and ipod mode? charge while plugged, etc?
VBLUE42
I have tested an iphone 3g with my F90 and all functions are compatible as far as iphone 2.0 are concerned. Dont know what may have been rendered incompatible with iphone 2.01 but I suspect it all will still work.
3_D
I concur. Everything works great with iPhone 3g.
datarecl
2G does it all too. Video playback as well. Only small inconvenience is the apparent inability to delete a contact from the F series. If you are like myself, I have multiple numbers for contacts, and contacts I don't ever call. Since the unit downloads each separate number for every contact, it doesn't tell you (in the contact screen) which number is which (i.e. Home, Mobile, Work) so dialing from the the contact screen is tricky. Silveradoj442
I read that to play videos you had to control it from the iphone itself. Is this true or are you able to use the avic to control everything? Did you use the apple $50 cable to do it?
VBLUE42
Video control of the iphone works with the touch screen and with the Pioneer cable. The ipod touch now seems to be the only one giving people problems.
skicrave
It doesn't matter which cable you use (Apple or Pioneer), but you do need firmware version 1.01700 to get video playback.
delarosa13
If you upgrade your iphone (1st or 2nd generation) to 2.0.1 you will have no problems playing videos, everithing works fine
skicrave
The second generation phone was never available without 2.x.x.
BuckyThreadkiller
I'm guessing that iPod video is all you can get, right? There's no way to actually see and use the iPhone apps through the nav screen right? I couldn't use the iPhone Google maps as a Nav or see my email on the screen?
