F700BT in 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

Recommended Posts

I installed my F700BT yesterday and it was pretty straight forward. My car has the factory Infinity speakers and amp so I ordered a Metra 70-7003 adapter to plug into the amp. My car didn't require any special mounting hardware as the factory headunit was double-din.

I ran my mic up the A-pillar and clipped it on my visor next to the A-pillar.

The GPS receiver is under the dash just behind the clockpod in the second picture. There was a nice flat spot in there that was a perfect fit for the metal mat and receiver.

Sorry about the picture quality, I took them with my camera phone.

Once installed I noticed a good sized gap (~4mm) all the way around the headunit. I haven't been able to find a trim kit or bezel to fill in the gap yet.

Next weekend I am going to take out the headunit and drill out the mounting brackets so that I can recess the headunit and fit my stealthplate.
