Call Waiting

Whenever I have a call waiting call coming in, the stereo ringer rings and keeps ringing after I answer the call and continues to ring until I hang up the call. There have been a couple of times that when a call waiting call comes in that the screen actually says "call waiting" and then when I answer thru the screen, the ringer stops.

I can't figure out why it doesn't go thru that procedure every time a call waiting call comes in.

Any ideas?

I read back a few pages where someone just turned off their ringer on the stereo and somewhat solved the problem. I guess I will try that for now until I either get a different phone or someone finds a solution to the problem. I have a blackberry.
