natedoggy Posted September 5, 2008 Report Share Posted September 5, 2008 I just bough this units the other day, I also bought a dash kit and the pioneer Ipod cable, my question to you guys is what cables do I need in order to install it in a 08 GTI? I talked to an audio specialist store and they said that I would need a euro/American Antenna since it’s a German car. They also said I would need something called a “VW AH kit†which I have no idea what it is. If someone can make me list of things that I need for the unit to work I would greatly appreciate it Quote Link to post Share on other sites
hellodave Posted September 5, 2008 Report Share Posted September 5, 2008 I have a UK spec Golf, but I assume yours will be similar, in which case you'll need an antenna adaptor (the VW plug is usually called a "Fakra" type) and a wiring adaptor, which goes in between the VW radio connector and your F900. To make life easier, I'd recommend buying a CAN bus interface - they're not cheap, but should give you an easy way to connect the switched live, reverse and VSS wires to the F900 (otherwise you have to go digging behind the dash), and mine connects the steering wheel buttons to the F900 too (if you have them).
