Having D2 installed in my 03 Trailblazer w Onstar and Bose

Recommended Posts

The fade function depends on the bose system in the truck. There's 2 different types. One, only has 3 or 4 eq presets which you can keep the fade controls. The other one which has around 8 you can't fade properly will. As for the steering controls, there's a couple of those around too.

There's 2 ways 2 mute the d2. The first would be to get a pioneer remote with a mute/att button. The other option is to hook the cell mute wire from the d2 to one terminal of a toggle switch and ground to the other side of the toggle switch. Then when youflick the switch the d1 will mute and when you flick it off it will return to normal. As far as the sound goes, have you tried playing with the eq settings at all? By default The avics eq are set to the powerful setting which majorly emphasises the bass and cuts the mids and trebble a bit.

Ok, here's something. On the digital Bose systems-the ones that don't fade and have 6 or more eq presets, you must set all your tone and balance controls to center BEFORE removing the factory head, because the amp module makes all the audio changes, not the head unit. Try plugging the fact. head back in and centering everything. Also, try plugging in a non-bose interface, the GMAH24, and see how that sounds, if that sounds better, readjust your OnStar volume and leave it.
