Bowhunter4Life
Like I said in the title of this topic, I'm not tryin to beat a dead horse but not even on the Apple Store does it say that this is a Gen 5 IPOD, just that its a "previous generation" IPOD. Is this the IPOD that will play videos through the D3? http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB147LL/A
CamelTowing
No, you need the earlier model. It looks just like that but is not a classic

jlong1987
The iPod that you linked to would be a 6th Generation iPod Classic. In that generation you would have both the 80GB and the 160GB iPods. You can get them to play video through the iPod cable on the D3 if you downgrade the iPod to that of the 5th Generation iPod. Currently Apple is on their 7th Generation iPod which only comes in 120GB but comes in the popular slimmer case. You are going to have trouble finding a brand new 5.5 Generation iPod that is new, I would recommend eBay or a company that does iPod repair or iPod trade ins. They would be the best place to look for one. You can play nay generation iPod w/ video through your D3 if you hook it up via the RCA but you will loose D3 control
Bowhunter4Life
Thanks for the info. I think I'm just going to scrap the whole idea. I like being able to control my Nano through the D3 and if I want to play a movie, which wouldn't be very often, I'll just take out the Nav CD.
