tosaytheleast
Use the search function. It'll be very useful in the future so get used to exploring it. What you're looking for is usually called a "bypass." There are two bypasses that you can do. One is a hardware bypass where you have to switch some wires around in a harness. The other is a software bypass in which you go in and change some of the programming on the unit. Both methods are a lot easier than they sound and what you get back from the searches will be more detailed than any reply that you'll get here on this topic. Good luck. superman8262
you have to wait a little for the software mod to be posted up too. This site went through some changes and its still trying to recover some old threads.
dianebrat
Hardware Bypass for dummies http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ght=bypass It's that easy, that reliable, and involves no software mods.

X2. Software bypass is redundant IMO 1. Takes more time to do 2. You risk bricking your unit if you have no idea what you're doing 3. hardware bypass is just as effctive 4. If your unit ever crashed, Hardware bypass is reversible. Software is not.

It's also there whether or not you change any other programming on your unit in the future.
