CatchMeIfYouCan631
Did you rename it "Image.res" before putting it back onthe unit?
Nuda
Yes , I created a "zip" file then renamed it to image.res I have tried it a couple of times.. Is there a certain setting I am missing when creating the zip file ?
skicrave
Welcome to the site! When you explore the newly compacted file does it have the same file structure as the original Images.res?
Nuda
Yes.. It had a single folder named images with everything inside .. When " zipping" do I chose to create a regular zip file.. Or another setting?
VBLUE42
Dont unzip the file. When in windows, right click and select explore. Navigate to the files you want to edit and drag them to the desktop. Edit the files then drag them back to the open explored window.
CatchMeIfYouCan631
IIRC the Imge.res is not a .zip. When you go to compress it again using 7zip you click Add to Archive and rename it "Image.res" afterwards...it's been a while since I made a theme (though I just got inspiration for a new one last night ) but I don't remember any .zip files when changing the theme. Nuda
Thank you for the replies.. I am going to retry today as I finally have some time off.. I never tried to just rename image.res to image.zip and expand in OSX then make my changes and re compress in OSX.. ( leopard ) I will try that today.. Thank you for all of your help ... Hopefully I can start skining this thing soon..
Nuda
Hello all.. Thanks for the replies.. I am still having troubles making the smallest of changes to the image files.. I decided to change one file.. then re compress the image.res file.. and still no joy.. I am not sure if it is the image.. or the compression on the image.res file.. the system just hangs when I upload the file.. The file was changed in Photoshop cs3 saved as a windows bitmap.. added to the proper directory .. and zipped with p7.zip I am going to try to attach the image.res file.. and the bmp .. If anyone has the time to figure out what I am doing wrong.. I would greatly appreciate it.. I started with the "destination" icon from the main menu .. just as a starting place.. 746_32K_MN-640_32b_normal.bmp.zip
CatchMeIfYouCan631
I never tried to just rename image.res to image.zip You have it backwards. Rename it Image.res, DO NOT name it Image.zip
