I have a 2001 Accord and bought f500bt last week. I have never installed anything like that on my car but the supplied mount looks too big + the cable to the cradle is really thick... It seems like a good idea to remove the clock unit (right between the vents) and make a custom mount fastened to the same spot on the dash. There will be plenty of room to hide the wiring and the only thing to consider is buying a hazard lights switch which could be fixed to the mount. There could be many other options but I believe the clock spot mount would be great. What do you think?

For my Mazda6, I used top compartment and put audio output (pre-amp) to line driver/amplifier and ground loop isolator and then to Bose head unit's AUX-in. It works pretty well & no engine noise.

I will post some photo later.
