Z06PSI
Getting a loud pop when I turn the head unit on. It is powering a stock subwoofer in a 2005 Navigator. Any way to soften the pop? Maybe a resistor inline?
rareform
yes add a resistor in line with the amp turn on, ford amp turn on is 5 volts. To avoid the pop, you will need to add a 12 volt to 5 volt regulator in line on the remote lead. This item can be purchased at any Radio Shack, the part number is 276-1770. And yes you can use a resistor but you will need to test for the value it eludes me at the present time.
1loudls
just add a 1450 Ohm resistor inline with the remote turn on wire (common with most ford premium sound systems)

Z06PSI
I put a 1.5K ohm 1/2 watt resistor in and the pop is significantly less but it is still there.
1loudls
i would try a resistor with a little higher value, maybe 2k or 2.5k, im not sure, 1450 is what we have in our shop and havent had any problems
2screwed
What do you do if you have the pop when the amp turns off? Same thing?
