rubenhak
Hi, Installing F90BT. Confused in connecting the Illumination wire. My card has 2 wires: 1) Illumination - Orange 2) Illumination Control (Dimer) - Orange/White My question is, which one of them should I connect to navigation Illumination wire(Orange/White) ? Thank you.
1loudls
use illumination plus some cars use a negitive dimmer
rubenhak
I have already connected to the dimmer wire. It seems like it works fine. What is the real difference when connecting dimmer vs illumination?
1loudls
the illum wire shows 12V+ when the parking lights are on, the voltage will vary on the dimmer wire depending on what the dimmer knob is set to and some cars use a negitive dimmer
kwistofoo
does the dimmer function on the f90 work at all.. its never worked for me, and im sure its connected right, since i used the same dimmer wire my old HU used
1loudls
it makes a huge differance on my f900bt, with out it it is blinding at night even with black backgrounds
etnpnys
Yeah, mine will be brighter when the headlights are off. ...I don't think it will fade according to the dimmer, though... is it supposed to?
1loudls
no, it just goes to a lower brightness setting when the dash lights are on. that is why it is a illum wire, not a dimmer wire
