Use seperate screen with CD-IU230V for Ipod

Recommended Posts

Bought 2 of the f700bt and I love the system. Installed in my 03 Tacoma and wifes 06 Fusion. Adjusted memory settings, changed splash screen, in process of changing red arrow on nav, video bypass(which also works with Iphone). Couldn't find the answer using search so just throwing out the question if anyone has used the CD-IU230V cable for Ipod/ Iphone and routed the yellow (video) cable to a different monitorwhile keeping the red and white going to the deck . The reason I ask is because I traded in the Tacoma and bought a 2006 Maxima. I will be doing some minor modifications and will be putting a 7" screen in the upper part of the center console along with the stereo lower down on the center console. I would like to watch the video on the upper monitor while routing the sound through the the deck. Anyone tried this or know if it works?

Would just like to know so I don't buy the extra screen if it is not going to work. I won't be getting rid of info screen just relocating it to underneath the 700 at bottom of console. Have seen it done on other maximas and having the video screen higher up makes for better viewing for people riding with me. Plus it just looks cool.
