whodat90
Ok, I just installed the 700 in my car and took it for a test trip. Samantha was either hollering at me or whispering, it was just like being married. I tried every variation I could of dynamic volume on, off, speed changes, etc. Best I could come up with was dynamic volume off, master and voice sliders in the middle. Problem is this seems to tie her volume to stereo volume. If I'm rocking out to some Lawrence Welk near max volume, and a turn comes up, she screams at me. If I then put on some Metallica from the SD card for my daughter that was recorded at a high level and the volume is low, she (samantha, not my daughter) whispers. Is there some way to lock the voice guidance volume to a specific point rather than being relative to either speed or stereo volume? And why the heck is there a save button at the bottom of this post that doesn't save anything useful? I've had to rewrite a couple of posts because I hit save instead of submit. whodat
hchavez
That is odd, when you have dynamic volume off the volume level should stay at the level you set no matter how loud or low you are playing your music. Do you have the 2.0 firmware?
whodat90
Yup, 2.0 firmware. Volume changes directly with volume, you can change it when she's talking.
kwistofoo
iirc, i have my low speed set around 30 mph and my high speed at 150 mph (or somewhere around there).. i found that method keeps the voice volume from getting too high...
etnpnys
It says in the manual that the navigation voice will remain at your saved setting *unless you are listening/watching from SD card or USB.* ...Then it is variable with your volume.
whodat90
Well alrighty then. I'm guessing that's because the USB and SD card both play natively through WinCe?

I don't know if I've actually thought through the issue that far - but I think you're on to something.
