Downgrade problem with 2.007 firmware

Recommended Posts

Hi ,everyone

i got a problem with my avic F900BT.

History

I bouth my avic F900BT on internet ( US version).

I apply many european firmware ( trying to have access to the gps european map - i'm french - )

I use ezrider et and france map with success and my GPS works fine ( except bluetooth) .

I upgraded my Avic F900 to the new 2.007 European firmware and the problems arrived.

There is no testmode with this firmware, it's imposible to run testmode but I found a topic(https://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18442) to downgrade the WinCE to have testmode back.

My problem:

I boot on the bluescreen, then I use the code ( Up, Up, Down, Menu, Left, Right) to get the menu. After 30/45 seconds my avic F900BT shutdown !! :(

( Avic F900BT shutdown even on the normal mode - it works fine with the 2.005 EU firmware -)

Can someone help me with this problèm ?

Sorry for my bad english , i'm a french dude

Were you able to install the older WinCE image files? Did you maybe used the 1st option (with format)?

Then you have the same problem as I had on Friday (I did exactly the same as you). The only difference is: I've got the european version of the F900BT (bought it with my car in Austria), but I think there are no big software differences and the unit should work similar. The format option deletes every file in the unit except the files needed for booting. So you are only able to get into test mode (with SD card and testmode files on it).

To restore your unit you have to get a complete backup of the files (about 1,4GB), copy them to a SD card, together with the test mode files. After that you boot into test mode, copy all the orders to your device and it will work again. That's what I did this weekend.
