Hatzenbach
Before I see if the SquareTrade warranty I got is any good, I figured I'll post my problem: I have an AVIC-F 700BT, Firmware 2.006, it's installed in a Boxster The front and rear speakers are driven by the internal amp of the AVIC The subs are driven by an external amp Everything works great in the morning and at night HOWEVER: When I go to lunch there is no sound from the speakers connected to the AVIC (only the sub is happily rumbling along). I live in Northern California and yes the car is parked outside and yes the sun is shining on the dashboard. So yesterday at lunch time when it happened again I pulled out the AVIC and it was cool to the touch so I doubt that it's really a thermal problem I also did reset the unit a few times and even re-installed the firmware to no effect. Also disconnecting a pair of speakers didn't help (I though I maybe overloaded the internal amp) By the way: everything worked fine for many months, the issue just started happening this week. Any ideas (besides send it in for repairs)? Thanks
bsnively
I installed mine in a Cayman which has a very similar setup (this doesn't help w/ diagnosing, but no issues w/ mine) What option do you have w/ the car: Base, Sound Package Plus, Bose (hopefully not since it uses the MOST fiber system to send signals/etc)? Thanks, Ben
Hatzenbach
Hi, It's a 2002 Boxster S, 2002 was the last year before the MOST bus The car came with the dash and door speakers and I later added a Bose rear speaker unit which I modified so that it could be connected to a normal amp Cheers
