adidascanada
Have my AVIC-D3 installed with the parking break bypass located here. The video plays until I reach about 10 km/h and then the blank screen. Guessing it is because the GPS notices I am in motion (when I come to a stop the video is displayed again). I konw I should be "wathcing video" when driving but for the other occupants in the vehicle, is there a hack/mod toget around this? Thanks
adidascanada
Did the search and found the story with the 54 year old lady and the bypass without pictures. I did this mod: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7998 Is this the reason? Thanks
sallysky
Try this I have confirmed that changing the parking_break_speed value in the DATA.zip file (/project_config/pioneer.ini) does in fact bypass the video/gps restriction without changing any wiring. I set the value to 128.0 (thought it odd that they picked 16, so I assumed they were using the standard 1,2,4,8,16 binary notation so I chose a number that would fit in that series, hence 128). I know this works because I just installed this unit 2 days ago and did NOT use any bypass. With the change made to the ini file, I can now enjoy video while traveling up to 128 MPH
adidascanada
Thanks for the tip! But now for the bad news...I'm kinda new to the AVIC world and unsure how to mod this file. Guessing I obtain a copy of the firmare, update the INI, burn it to DVD and "read from disc option" in settings to up date???

Go to the following thread for instructions for the Bypass. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7998
VBLUE42
I did this mod:viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7998 Check your connections, if it doesn't work, its not done correctly.
adidascanada
VBLUE42 is correct....I rechecked the plug in the harness and it was not "deep" enough. Thanks for opening my eyes!
