Usb on F900bt Not recognizing anything

I just recently got the ipod plug for my avic F900BT. I plugged in the rca jacks, video plug and the usb plug in. However when I turn my Ipod on and the deck set to Ipod on AV1 I get nothing but a blank screen. If I change the AV1 input to video 1 then I can hear the ipod songs through the deck and watch music videos, but I DOn't have any Ipod controls. I don't know if my usb port on my deck is bad or what. It is a 5th Generation Ipod 80GB... Software version on my deck is 3.0.. Any help is greatly appreciated. ALl the problems I see on here are the opposite they all seem to have the controls on the screen but no sound.... I have neither when the deck is set to ipod and have sound and video but no ipod controls when the av1 is set to video 1, So I know the rcas are working.... Software on the ipod is 1.1.1 I believe. If you need any additional info to help me out let me know.
