What does the speed sensor input affect?

Recommended Posts

Guys,

I'm almost all hooked up, but haven't done the speed sensor input or the grounded the bypass yet. Other than being unable to watch videos while driving (not a big deal to me), what features am I missing out on by not doing these two things?

Does grounding the bypass allow you to type in addresses while driving (mine disables about 5 or so mph)?

What does the speed sensor affect?

Thanks guys,

Craig

Not doing the bypass will lock you out of many nav features, many phone features, and video while driving. Also you will need to do more then just ground the parking brake wire to do the bypass correctly. Browse the hacks and mods section of this forum for complete instructions on the bypass. The speed sensor takes over when you are not getting sat signal, like when driving in a dense forest or a tunnel. It is there for a reason and should always be connected.
