run lap timer software in test mode?

Recommended Posts

I figured I'd ask before I start wasting a lot of time.

From time to time I take my little sports car to one of the local race tracks and do some "high performance driving"

To record my lap times I currently use GPS based timer-software (MaxQData) which runs on Windows Mobile 5.0

So I am now wondering that instead of using my Windows Mobile PDA it would be much slicker to boot my AVIC-F700BT into test mode, install MaxQData and now have an in-dash lap timer.

I guess that is the easy part, now come the question(s), all about GPS:

a) How do I configure the built in GPS in testmode so that 3rd party applications can use it?

B) I have an external bluetooth GPS receiver which samples at 10Hz (which I therefore would rather use). Is there a way to configure Bluetooth in test mode so that it can connect to Bluetooth devices other than phones?

Thanks for any input

Chris
