SBRocket
Hi, I'm setting up the harness for my new D2 to go into my Toyota FJ. I also have the Toyota harness plug and it has a wire for ground and one for the constant power. The D2 harness has those wires connected to a black box that is about 15 inches away on the harness and a 10a fuse on the yellow (constant) and two black (ground) wires mated to a single black ground wire coming out of it. What is that box? Do I need it? My harness would look a lot better if I made those 2 the same length as the rest of the wires. But I don't want to cut it out if I need it. So should I cut the black box off the harness that the yellow and black go through? I could just run the yellow (constant) and black (ground) to the Toyota harness. I would splice the 10a fuse into the yellow if necessary. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Steve B.
cntrylvr79
Leave the box in tact. From what I remember there's a noise filter in there. If the harness isn't perfect it's not a big deal. Besides you could just extend the rest of the wires the same length as constant and ground are.
SBRocket
Thanks, I suspected that might be the case. I will keep the box. Steve
