just installed and the screen stays black no start up nothin

so i bought this f700bt used from a friend he had it for a couple months on his car, right after buying it i got into a car accident and between work school and trying to get a new car, six months went by and the unit was sitting in my room on a table.

 

I decided to install it today wired it up according to the manual did the wire bypass and grounded both the mute and the e-brake cable once i put everything back together i started the car and the fan turns on the buttons light up white but the screen stays BLACK. i pressed reset and nothing. After the white buttons come on they go out after 20seconds and evrythings stays black? this was working? i called pioneer first thing they asked me was did u do the bypass? i said no then he didn't offer any other support just told me the unit is broken.

 

are there any resets i can try or something else i am over looking?

Did you relocate the mute wire to the correct pin ?

i bought the cable from ebay and it came bypassed alrdy i looked at the pictures and mine was alrdy moved.

do u think i should move it back? t

No, just make sure it's in the correct location and secured well when it's plugged in. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. It's almost sounding like you have a bad unit.
