jimmy303
I've noticed a lot of people on this forum asking about strange operation of front/rear fade on the new GM Bose systems in the SUV's. I get bombarded with PM's about this on other forums I am on. If you are going to replace the head in a newer model GM vehicle with the big radio, make sure you center all controls(bass, treble, balance, fader) BEFORE removing the radio. If you don't, it's a royal pain later. Also, the H2, Escalade, Yukon, Tahoe, Suburban, Denali, Sierra, Silverado, etc. usually will have the rear channels sounding muffled after the install. This seems to happen more with the OS-2BOSE by PAC and the Peripheral GMAH24B than with the Metra and Axxess adapters. This is just the nature of the beast that is the Bose amp. Mainly, just make sure to center your controls first. It will save you some work later when you realize you had the fader all the way to the back and now your front speakers don't work. The amp will save these settings after you disconnect the head unit. Also, if you are using one of the afore-mentioned interfaces, make sure to disconnect or pull all the radio fuses before allowing anyone to connect your vehicle to a diagnostic machine or tuning programmer. jimmy303
The Peripheral GMAH24/B or the PAC OS2/BOSE both work well, but have their quirks. I've used both with success.
