Chingus
I can seem to find any information on CDDB or CD Text for the 110. I guess when we play a CD there is no info
VBLUE42
The 110 does not support CDDB sense it has no hard drive. The text data will need to be encoded on the CD in order for the unit to list title info.
Chingus
Thank you vblue. I was thinking it would be nice if the CDDB data could be loaded on to the SD card. However, I don't think there is a portable database for CDDB. Just thinking out loud.... I am very happy with my 110. I had the Z-1 upgraded to 2 then 3 all with help from this site. I sold the z1 and went with the Kenwood DNX8120 about a year ago. Just purchased an SRX and needed to change. The 110 sounds even better than the 8120 with 5.1 with my Bose system. Just so pleased with the unit. I was just surprised to see no data for CDs. Thanks again.
VBLUE42
As I said it will display text data for CD's but there are very few if any commercially available CD's with text info encoded as part of the CD. I also have never seen any unit that had an internal CDDB data base that would match to an inserted CD without ripping the CD to an internal drive. This is all old technology now and is on its way out. Portable MP3 players, notably the iPod, are the future in car audio and these devices support titles and much more. Chingus
I do agree CDs are old hat. And are still the one medium that I get my music without DRM.
