Bostonian1976 Posted April 26, 2010 Report Share Posted April 26, 2010 Hi all - I have an X710BT that has a static/popping sound in FM radio only. AM is perfect, as is HD radio, iPod, etc. The radio also seems incredibly sensitive to altitude changes - ie I go down a hill, and reception fades and 'pop pop' irregular static begins, crest the hill and sound gets brighter, etc. My antenna is tight on the car, and tight into the HD radio unit. Reception was very good with factory unit with no static. It's an FJ Cruiser, and it has no antenna amplifier that I missed. I'm at a loss for what could be causing this but it's driving me crazy.
