Dead Battery

I installed my new x710bt last week in my car last week and then left on a trip. When I returned [4 days], the battery was dead.

 

Upon reading the instructions for the parking brake install again this afternoon, I realized I mistook the ground for a lead and hooked the parking brake wire from the unit to the lead (red wire) for the car harness rather than the ground in an effort circumvent attaching it to the actual parking brake wire.

 

My question is this: Would the attachment of the parking brake wire to the 12V wire from the unit be a drain on the battery?
