No iPod icon on AV Source

Hi,

 

I am new to this and have just bought and installed an F910BT with firmware 3.020200. I have just bought an ipod AV cable and connected it to my unit via the audio input leads. I have plugged my ipod in and the usb part but nothing happens. I cant find the ipod icon on AV source only options for AV1 being ipod, video or off. Am i missing a setting or plugged the cable in the wrong one. My friend has an f900 and his displays and works with ipod perfectly. Any help would be appreciated.

you could try a different cable (maybe the one you have is defective)

 

you could try using the ipod cable that comes with the ipod (of course you will not get any audio) but you could see if the icon pops up on the screen and if the avic will recognizes it, if not there may be a problem with your avic

I would try your ipod in your friends Avic and see if it works OK.I had a similar problem with my Ipod touch.What i did was reset my ipod to its default settings(through Itunes)and then tried it and it connected first time.

Where did you buy the iPod cable?

Thanks for youer replys. I bought the cable from ebay but made sure it worked with my 3.0 firmware on my iphone also tried his ipod and dint work. If I do a full reset on my unit, would that make a difference to showing the ipod icon, you think?
