netviper
I just got a new car and they have a great set-up for a F500BT, but I am having a hard time finding a good place to buy one. Most of them are refurbished or used. Would you be a refurb unit? Anyone have some good recommendations for me? Thanks,
1loudls
well since its a discontinued model, its gonna be hard to find one new. is there a reason that you dont just replace the radio for one that have nav built in, it works sooo much better then trying to integrate a f500 into an existing system. Well, the car is a Acura NSX and I don't really want to tear into it. I would rather just get the Nav pod and put this in there. It will be good enough.
1loudls
fair enough, just a warning, unless the NSX's radio has an aux input, integrating a F500 is actually more invasive work than installing an F or X series, with the f500's external amp that has to get spliced into all the factory wiring, the double din units will use harnesses to connect to the factory wiring, the f500 needs to have the factory wiring cut into to integrate properly. both solutions really require removing the factory radio to do the install. if you just plan to use the unit as a stand alone GPS and not integrate it into the factory system, then you are paying a lot extra for a system with a bunch of features that you will not be using, i would recommend getting something more along the lines or a Garmin or Magellan as the pioneer's nav is not the greatest, and the key features that make it worth it(ipod and voice control of the ipod, bluetooth muting the factory stereo...) will not be getting used. not to mention integrating the F500 into a car that has a premium sound system is even more difficult to get to function correctly

bigsnyder
For the accessories: http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=PIONDG500 http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=PIOCDIU200VM http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=PIOCNSD-150FM (This is not the newly released 2010 version, but this one is a whole lot cheaper.) If you do decide to tackle this project, get a parrot bluetooth wiring harness specific for your vehicle to eliminate splicing into any factory wires like this one: http://www.safewireless.com/hands-free- ... -p-53.html That particular harness may or may not be the correct one depending on your vehicle, I just made an educated guess based on the info you gave. Anyway, I got one for my vehicle on ebay much cheaper.
