Not enough map detail with 3.02

I upgraded my maps and firmware couple months ago on my avic f900 and the street labels only appear when ZOOMED in 3d mode

 

 

is this a map issue or a firmware issue?

It's how it is. You have to be at 500FT or less to see street labels.

It doesn't matter, that's the answer, regardless of how it was before.

 

The maps are part of the firmware upgrade. If you don't like it, restore your back up from the previous version of both.

 

If you're going to live with it, like everyone else, turn smart zoom on and make the max 500ft, so you always see street names in 3d mode.

what does full screen mode do by chance?

 

also, when I change the color from blue to red the background color doesnt change

It makes the map full screen. The Route info and second maneuver graphic are hidden.
