GPS red arrow points in wrong direction.

hi, i purchased an avic z2 about a year ago and it works great except for the gps red arrow. the arrow i am talking about is the arrow that represents the vehicle when moving. when i am driving it is pointing in the wrong direction and not in the direction that i am driving. how do i fix this? i have not connected the speed sensor wire so i dont know if this has anything to do with it. please let me know if anyone has any ideas on this. your help is appreciated.

First of, try a reset.

Secondly, it's not a good idea to leave the speedpulse not connected...... connect it, that's what it's for

To add, and not to sound like a jerk, did you check to see that you installed your "brain" unit properly? If you installed it backwards, i.e. the -> (arrow) pointing the wrong way, it may show your orientation improperly on your navigation screen.

 

Make sure you have good satellite links, the unit should try to self-correct your orientation if it senses you moving in a particular direction, unless you have the brain unit installed backwards, then it will just think you are going in reverse.

there is an option in the menus along the lines of "change current location" when you do this not only can you change your location but also orientation. you might want to try that

like atunguyd said, theres a option under setting to modify current location, hit ok, then it will pop up two arrows on the screen to change directions of the arrow in 360 degs
