6 Volt Power Source?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a 6 volt power source to power my factory backup camera in my Tahoe. I just bought the rear camera without the module or harnesses. Now I just need to power it so I can use it when I install my z120bt.

- Does the z120bt have any 6 volt outputs I could use to power the camera?

- Does my Tahoe have any 6 volt sources in it?

I think I will order this if no one has another solution for me.

nope

maybe, but it will be hard to find it, with all cars having 12v systems, all the electronics in the car are designed to use 12v not 6v, and if a device does use less than 12v the voltage reduction is usually dont inside that device and 12v is still ran to it

this or something like this is probably you best option, since it take the readily available 12v in the car and cuts it down to just what you need, i have also seen similar devices that have a variable output voltage that you can dial in.

or if you knew all the spec on the camera such as power consumption, you could do the math to figure out what value of resistor you could use to cut the voltage down to 6v.
