GatorFLHX
My Avic-D1 was sent to Pioneer for service. The Tech at Best Buy pulled the unit, with the wiring harness, and sent it in to repair the screen. Unit came back yesterday and was re-installed today, but now the bypass lockout is no longer working. The lockout bypass (used procedure posted here in forum) worked great prior to sending in to Pioneer. Any ideas on what went wrong? What is the possibility the Pioneer service tech made an internal change because he/she saw the bypass wire in the harness? What can we check? Any suggestions/help is appreciated. tillithz
which bypass? maybe you got the bluetooth update and have to bypass it differently now.
GatorFLHX
The bypass that allows Nav functions while driving. The Tech confirmed that the parking brake wire was grounded and that the additional wire in the harness was grounded...just as he installed it originally. We're both scratching our heads on what may have changed since the repair.
tillithz
i know what the bypass does but there are two different types... flashing lights or grounding pins... you probably arent grounded or updated if you are.
GatorFLHX
The Tech assured me both are grounded, so how do I know if its updated? I'm using navi disc 2005 version 1.2. If it is, is there an additional procedure we need to perform? Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.
tillithz
sorry my mistake, thats for the z1. but the d1 should be bypassed only one way. so they are probably being lazy.
GatorFLHX
Fair enough. I'll head back to see them tomorrow and have them recheck the ground for both. You don't think Pioneer would have changed something in the unit because they saw the bypass wire, do you?
tillithz
in just your unit? not likely, your not that lucky to get pioneer to design something just for you.
jville140db
what would happen if the input form the input for the bypass next to the ground went bad
