DeEePiDDy
Hello all, I have a Pioneer X920BT and a Kenwood CMOS-200 Rearview camera. The rear camera only turns on when the car is in reverse. Whenever I go into the settings to turn on the camera to see whats behind me while going forward or to adjust the video settings I only get a black screen. Why is that? Is it my camera? or is there a specific setting I need to work around?
rgarjr
who installed the camera? It sounds like its getting powered off the reverse brake lamps. Cam should be on whenever the car is switched to ignition, u will need to re-wire.
DeEePiDDy
I believe it is wired to the reverse brake light... where is it supposed to be wired to?
rgarjr
U need to find a wire that has 12V when the ignition switch is set to ignition. If you can't find a wire back there u need to run one from the front.
DeEePiDDy
I found out what the issue was.. The Kenwood CMOS-200 has a wire that's supposed to be wired to the reverse light only if not hooked up to a nav.. this wire was hooked up which causes the camera to be shut off when not in reverse, even though its not where it gets its power...
