Pioneer AVH 7500 DVD with avic 80 and AVG-AVDP1

I foudn out that you cannot hook up both to the 7500 due to the fact that there is only one cable in the back of the 7500 for either the AVIC or AVG. So we made a sawp cable and copies the same pin outs so I can move the cables for either so they will be hooked to the 7500. The avic works fine put the AVG will not. Pioneer told me it is the same pin out, but cannot get the screen to come up, flash for a second then black screen, Any one try this or have an idea of how to get this to work so I can use both in the car?
