RobotTurtle
Hi everyone, I have had my 920 for a while now (5 months), and every once in a while I get no audio, regardless of source. The only way I can "fix" it is to turn off the vehicle, then start it back up (cut power to deck, then re-power)....... which is a ROYAL PITA. I am at the point where I might install a switch to kill the power without touching the dang key. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a defect, and should I RMA it? Thanks for any/all info, I love the deck otherwise. RT
VBLUE42
Is this happening after you turn your headlights on?
RobotTurtle
No, it's not. I did read a lot of those posts though. Most had HID lighting ( I do not). This is extremely random. There is no pattern to it at all. It has even happened to my friend who just bought his 920 about a month ago. He did mention he read a thread on here about this specific problem, but I was unable to find it. I searched for an hour or so before posting..... Thanks, RT
VBLUE42
Do you have any add ons to the car that are using a lot of current?
RobotTurtle
No sir. This happens immediately from power-up. Vehicle running or not. Seems to me like something doesn't boot, load, or power on. Kind of like a Mosfet just never works? Vehicle is a 2008. Pretty much bone stock aside from the deck, Pioneer GM-D9500F amp, and speakers. I'm certain I could reproduce this on the bench.
RobotTurtle
This happened 3 more times since my last post. Again, I tried everything to get the audio to initiate, without killing power, but nothing happened. Once I turned the vehicle off, then back on, it was immediately fine again. Getting pretty annoying.....
VBLUE42
Get it exchanged.
RobotTurtle
Get it exchanged. What exactly is the best way to go about that? I bought it from Amazon, and I do have it registered with Pioneer. Will I have to RMA This one and be without a deck for a period of time? Thank you for the help, RT
VBLUE42
Return it to Amazon for exchange. Will I have to RMA This one and be without a deck for a period of time. Thank you for the help, RT Yes.
RobotTurtle
Unfortunately, it's been longer then 30 days so a return/exchange is not possible. Ugh .....
