grendel
My 2010 GMC Sierra has a "shark fin" antenna for the stock GPS and Satellite. Anyone patch into those or something like it, instead of the fugly ones that come with the 120 and Sat tuner?
bit_bucket
Yup. I did this with my VW. If it is already wired behind your headunit just take a look at the connector and either get an adapter, see if the existing one fits or splice in the pioneer connector to the existing wire. Just make sure the impedance is good. Really most GPS antennae are only 2 wires. Good luck. This definitely makes it look more stock.
avediswolf
I tapped into the stock Sirius antenna on my Ford Explorer, and using it for the XM tuner. Working perfectly. Too bad I didn't have a stock GPS antenna, or I would have tapped into that as well.

Too bad I didn't have a stock GPS antenna, or I would have tapped into that as well. In my case my car didn't come stock with the sharkfin antenna, but I was able to order one from the dealership and install it giving me XM, Sirius, GPS, FM. It was well worth the paltry sum I paid for it. I think just about any dealership will sell you these if there is one available. I just love the stock look.
1loudls
damn son, that antenna doesnt look too bad, but if you have sat radio, i would unscrew the FM post part of it for a lower profile look
bit_bucket
Yeah, the mast kind of bugs me as well. I see that VW has some newer ones withou the mast, so I may just replace it with one of those. This all sure beats the hockey puck with wires hanging out of it.
