VR for cell phone not working F90BT

I just installed the AVIC F90bt in my truck. Had a blacberry and seemed to work fine w/ VR and contacts downloaded no problem. Installed the 2.008 update from pioneer and swithched to a droid phone. The VR for the ipod works ok, the VR for the phone works for dialing #s. However, the VR DOES NOT work when saying a name from the contacts. The voice on the unit simply says "I did not understnd,please say a name or #"this repeats a few times and then cuts off to resume music. Do I need to update again or is it possible I need the 3.0 update. Speaking of the 3.0, is there a new update coming out soon. Let me know if anyone has had similar problems. thank you in advance.
