hunterk2001
I just finished up an x930bt install on my 2001 Silverado, and I noticed that the outside temp reading in my rearview mirror is now about 10 degrees low. The mirror has the onstar, compass, and the temp reading. Not concerned about the onstar, but I know it has a wiring harness that connects to the back of the factory radio. Is there anything that I should have done, should not have done, while wiring this up that might have caused this? I also stopped by the dealer today and picked up a new sensor just to see if that might be the problem, but it wasn't. Still reads about 10 degress low. Oh, and yes the install was quite challenging. cafagna
Where is the outside temp sensor located? Is the Silverado a CAN BUS operated vehicle? If so, I would check with whatever company you chose for the CAN BUS adapter, that may have some impact on the main computer and how it is reporting the temperature. My Jeep wrangler's compass got all messed up with my install because the compass is located close to the radio and the magnetic field screwed it up. I just disconnected it so it no longer reported on my dash.
