clmotorsports Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Share Posted February 9, 2012 i just updated to pioneers 2.0008 from there website, my map version is 1.0006, imagine how frustrating it can get when ur maps are 3-4 years out of date..lol..... im looking for a user friendly update without any concerns of radio failure in a week or month down the line, .... so i would assume a 3.xxxx firmware update which im coming to understand is just pioneers x-series firmware with the newest map firmware allowable on my unit without risk of damaging anything, also i see there are some mods that people are re-writing in the firmware that seems extremely useful that i would be interested in .. im not very familiar with torrents and such, as ive never had to use them for anything else before which makes me more interested in doing it myself but the uncomfortabiity of not knowing makes my nervous reading other post saying there radio dont boot up and such... if u could help me with a detailed walk through id be glad to compensate u.... I like hobbies and its just me sharing mine! but i will upload a torrent tomorrow afernoon that will contian the FW 3.1 install with the updated 2011 Q3 maps. I take no credit in building or uploading the new maps. clmotorsports Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Share Posted February 9, 2012 i really appreciate this ...it means alot... ironically i just found new threads with working links for fx3.1 and TA.2011.Q3 maps .... i just saved them on my desktop, but i think i will wait to hear from u being that im sure yours will be a complete,all in one piece, with what i just found i believe i would have to update the maps seperately.... on ur update, will it have the mute guidance button and delete guidance on the map screen??? seems like i really convienent feature to have Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I am simply going to combine the 2 and upload the torrent in the simplest form so you guys can get back to your avics faster. Ill be out of work around 3 and if everything works with the 2011 maps . ill have the torrent live and uploaded by 4 with directions to install. Â The problem i ran into when doing these map updates and some fw images is that the files are to big for the avic. Ive deleted some of the maps we wouldnt use. Like canada, texas, california, oregon .... and now the size is down around 1.8gb .... so hopefully this is helps if your already combining your maps. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I just borrowed and updated my system and am sharing what i am currently running. Â The process i used to install is the following. Â 1. Download torrent 2. Unrar ... no password. 3. You should see 2 folders and 3 files inside. Copy all those as they are right to a blank SD CARD. 4. insert it into your unit. 5. hold the eject, menu, map buttons and then press the reset button... if done correctly u should a blue screen that says press to reset... dont reset press the following codes in... up, up down, menu, left, right ... then you should see 5 diffrent catagories you can pick... pick "wince" then pick " wince sd/usb" it will read and a do its thing and when down it will say ... please reset you unit. 6. press your reset button and leave the sd card in... it should come into a windows looking enviorment. 7. next click on MY DEVICE on your desktop 8. you will see a disk called MY FLASH DISK .... click it and go inside and click edit , select all, and the under file hit delete.... and yes to all when it ask.... This will delete all files on your avic... if you want to make a backup it wiould be smart but if not your choice ... no a biggy for me 9. Now once it deletes ... takes about 10-15 mins 10. under MY DEVICE go sd card and click to open and select my flash disk folder and go inside and click select all and cut and paste under the my flash disk and your avic. 11. THIS TAKE LIKE 20 mins , so grab a beer and let it be ... i know it will say like 150 mins and then 300 min and ...... just believe us around 20 is all.... 12. Click yes to all if anything pops up ..... 13. once everything copies to the avic flash disk ... go and open it and you should see and folder call " APL " click and open it .... inside will be a bunch of files ... go and find a program file call " SYSTEMSETTING" this will open the settings .... turn off the backup camera..... i dont know why but it was on and left me puzzeled this afternoon ... but this is how i fixed it 14. close it out .... remove the sd card... and .............................. 15. Hit reset and follow you langauge and speech setup.
