P4400BH screen seems to be stuck

Im finally upgrading my old AVIC-D2 (ugh, I know).

 

I ended up going with the AVH-P4400BH. I

Bought it new in the box.

 

I wired it up last night, only to find the screen seems to be stuck or off-track.

 

It won't tilt or eject unless I gently apply pressure to the top of the screen.

 

I'm experiencing this problem with out the unit installed in the dash. No dash kit attached or anything. Just wires connected to the back, unit resting horizontally in my hand.

 

When I gently appy pressure to the top to coax it open, I hear clicking/popping like its off track.

 

Any ideas? I'm afraid of getting the run-around from the place I bought it from.
