I've got the Pioneer adapter and it blows big time - I need to keep my phone working more than a few hours when the thing is running GPS for me. I've got the S3, so I have the Samsung adapter. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but when I got the S3 only the Samsung adapter would work for MHL with the phone because Samsung changed it from a 5 pin adapter to an 11 pin adapter.
