X940 & GMOS-100 Issues

Recommended Posts

Hello there, I recently installed a system in my 2011 GMC Sierra w/Bose and I purchased a GMOS-100 to retain all the chimes, steering wheel controls, etc. I ran into an issue though, my brother and I have tried installing the radio with this interface and we can't get it to work properly. I have looked online for similar issues and can't find anything. The sound works when it wants to and cuts often; on top of the fact the steering wheel controls don't work.

I'm currently tying to return the GMOS and look at purchasing a PAC interface. I was wondering if anyone has used this type of interface? If so, which one(s) would I need to purchase to retain my Steering wheel controls, factory chimes, possibly bluetooth and one that is functional with my Bose amplified factory system. I have an SLT 2011 GMC Sierra w/Bose.

I don't believe that harness has a built in steering wheel control interface. You should have to buy that separately. As far as the other problems, make sure the connections are crimped or soldered correctly (no wire nuts) and just double check that all the wires are connected correctly. This gmos harnesses have a good bit of wiring that may not be used. Almost sounds like an issue with a mute wire.

I got it fixed up, we called customer support and as it turns out a wire wasn't connected properly. We spent hours scratching our head for something so simple haha. Thanks for the help though!
