x-940bt gets stuck on mute

x-940bt installed with gmos-04. 06 escalade esv. i have done the bypass. add a wire directly above mute. i grounded that wire along with the parking brake wire and did not hook up the vss wire. i get no warnings, and can watch dvds at any speed. today i was driving and the volume cut in and out so i looked at the radio and when i cut out mute appeared. then after a bit it just stayed in mute. any ideas??

if you hooked up the mute wire to the gmos - remove it - if you have steering wheel control interface the mute will function without the head unit mute wire hooked up. I have a 07 tahoe and had the same symptom - seemed to work for me so far.
