S.A.M.
I just rode in a new Sante Fe SUV and note its navigation/head unit display/text is very visible in bright light - almost like the LCD displays some manufactures use for HVAC controls that are visible in direct sunlight or dark conditions. It looks like white paint floating on a black background - almost 3D looking. They also seem to use much larger text which is both taller and wider and maybe that helps. Are they using a different type of screen or is it just the way the text is laid out and programmed more in black and white, because my 940 sure washes out in direct sunlight no matter what I do with the brightness, contrast and dimmer settings? I don't know if the Hyundai screen is touchscreen and maybe that affects contrast etc?
theycallmeruffi
i believe the 940 uses a resistive style screen which isnt that great in sunlight.
