Is APP Radio worth it?

I recently purchased an X950BH and am getting it installed tomorrow. I do not have the cables for APPRADIO yet but I do have an iPhone. I wont use it with the Navi much but I feel like once in a while I would.

 

At this point I am just curious if its even worth buying the extra cables & then having it re-hooked installed. (I do not know how to install personally so I would have to take it to one of my mechanical friends, most likely paying them some type of cash to do it if it means taking the whole navi out to put in the extra wires).

 

I run all my music on a regular 64gb iPod so the Phone would just be used for pics, maybe maps once in a while and dumb stuff while im stuck in traffic.
